Your Semen Source
If you are still trying to increase frame and cow size, then you won’t be interested in any of the bulls we have to offer. However, if you are serious about reducing frame and cow size, and if you are serious about increasing thickness and fleshing ability, and if you are serious about calving ease and cow efficiency, then you have come to the right place. Our goal is to provide the genetics that will help you maximize profits, not necessarily performance. We may be your only source for this type of genetics.
Moderate Size…
What does it take to produce moderate sized cattle that are profitable on the ranch, as well as in the feedlot? It takes moderate sized bulls.

Contrary to popular opinion, it’s impossible to produce an efficient, 1100-pound cow with bulls that are over a 4 frame score. Although I’ve seen some 6-frame cows that only weigh 1100 pounds, it’s not a pretty sight. They are tall, thin, gutless cows that are very frail looking.

Many people mistakenly believe any cow under a 5 frame is a dwarf or a miniature. They’re wrong! Just for the fun of it we challenge you to take a tape measure and see how tall 48 or 50 inches really is. You will discover that 3 and 4 frame cows are not really as small as you thought they were. When you add some thickness and fleshing ability to a smaller framed cow you have a package that is without equal. We have some thick, easy-fleshing 3 and 4 frame cows that weigh over 1200 pounds. That is big enough.

Calving Ease…

If you are concerned about profitability, calving ease and fertility are still the two most important traits you should be selecting for. It doesn’t matter how much growth potential a calf has if he is born dead. Profit always begins with a live calf. Unfortunately, calving ease has all but been bred out of most breeds of cattle, even those that were once noted for their calving ease.
