The 2009 PCC-Influence Female Sale
WELCOME — This special sale will be held in conjunction with our fall bull sale on Monday, November 2nd. We will begin selling heifers promptly at 11:00 am.
THE CATTLE CYCLE — I have concluded that there is never a bad time to purchase the right kind of heifers. Efficient momma cows that can do the most for the least are always in style — because profit never goes out of style. However, finding the right kind of heifers (that are for sale) is never easy. That is why we sponsor this special sale.

COWBOY AUCTION — We will be using our unique cowboy auction to sell these heifers. It has an auction format, but no auctioneer and no noisy ringmen. Each set of heifers will have a base price posted on the following pages. When it is time to sell a set of heifers, we will ask those who are interested in those heifers, at the base price, to raise their buyer number. Then we will gradually increase the price until only one number remains. That will be the high bidder. Depending on group size, the high bidder will have the option to gate sort off of the group.

The only problem with our Cowboy Auction is there can be a tie bid when the last two buyer numbers drop out at the same time. When that happens we will give the bid to the bidder with the lowest buyer number. The other bidder will then be required to increase the bid to stay in the auction. If he increases the bid, then the bidder with the lowest buyer number will be asked to raise his bid, and so on.

GUARANTEED CALVING EASE — Many of the bred heifers in this sale will be guaranteed for calving ease. How is that for confidence? For every calf you have to pull you will receive $25 from the seller. If a caesarean is required, the seller will pay your vet bill. This guarantee is strictly between the buyer and the seller. Pharo Cattle Company is only acting as a marketing agent. To guarantee calving ease, we must rely on everyone’s honesty and integrity.

HEALTH and PREGNANCY — These heifers have all been bangs vaccinated and will be cleared for interstate transportation. Bred females will be guaranteed bred. If a buyer wants to have them rechecked for pregnancy, he must do it before they leave the sale barn. As is standard in the industry, the pregnancy guarantee does not continue after the cattle have changed hands.

SALE ORDER — Sale order will be established on sale day. We will probably sell the black groups before the red groups — and we will probably leadoff with the registered females. We normally sell the smaller groups before the larger groups — but not always.

Stay at Home Options
INTERNET OPTION — Once again, our female sale will be tied into an internet auction that will allow you to watch and participate from the comfort of your home — via your computer. For best results, this requires a high-speed internet connection. To register and/or apply to bid go to www.DVAuction.com. The cost to use this service is $1.50 per head on commercial heifers and 2% of the purchase price on registered heifers.
SIGHT-UNSEEN PURCHASES — If you are unable to attend our sale, we can arrange to have someone confidentially handle your bidding for you. We guarantee that your heifers will be purchased at the lowest price possible.
Please call Kit at 1-800-311-0995 or Gary Rhoades at 1-800-315-1970 so we can discuss your needs. Please call early! Except for an emergency, all sight-unseen bids must be received by 5:00 pm on Saturday. We strongly urge you to personally contact the consignor(s) of the heifers you are interested in.
TRANSPORTATION — Once again, we are providing heifer delivery to all 39 of our bull delivery locations. The details are covered on the next page. If you purchase 1 up to 15 head, our delivery should be cost effective. However, if you purchase over 15 head, you will probably want to arrange your own transportation.
