Comments: The Moffett Ranch is located near Kaycee, Wyoming — short grass and short water country. The Moffetts have been using PCC bulls for the past nine years because they work in their tough environment. Retha and Milton have created a very nice herd of small-framed, good-udder, high-fertility Angus cows — with great dispositions. The breeding behind these heifers goes back to Idaho, Emblazon, Homer and Anchor. They are all bred to a bull called Romeo, that was purchased at our 2006 fall bull sale. Romeo had five stars for calving ease, fleshing ability and disposition. His dam was 11 years old. Romeo’s birth weight EPD is –0.5, which is in the top 10% of the Angus breed. His energy value EPD is in the top 1/2 of the top 1%. Sisters to these heifers sold for $1650 per head in our 2008 fall sale.

Bred To: PCC Golden Nugget Guaranteed Calving Ease: No
Calving Period: April 1 - May 1, 2010 Feed Program: Native Pasture

Comments: The heifers in this group were all sired by 4-P Romeo (Reg.# 15198015). Romeo sold in PCC’s 2006 Fall Bull Sale. He had five stars for calving ease, fleshing ability and disposition. His dam was a well-proven 11-year-old cow. Romeo’s birth weight EPD is –0.5, which is in the top 10% of the Angus breed. His energy value EPD is in the top 1/2 of the top 1%. These Romeo daughters do an excellent job of representing the PCC program. They were all bred to PCC Golden Nugget, a bull that was purchased at PCC’s 2008 Fall Bull Sale. Golden Nugget is an OCC Legend grandson with 4-star calving ease and very good ultrasound data. This set of heifers is sure to get you started on the right foot.

Description: Angus Cross Bred Heifers (black) Base Price: $1000
Bred To: PCC OH Big Daddy Guaranteed Calving Ease: Yes
Calving Period: March 21 - May 21, 2010 Feed Program: Native Pasture

Comments: Guy and Sandi Whitlock ranch in some very tough country in Northern Colorado. Therefore, it’s not surprising that they have been long-time PCC customers. Their cows are the right size and type. They weigh 1050 to 1150 pounds — which is perfect for the semi-arid environment they live in. These ten heifers were bred to Big Daddy, a bull that sold in our 2009 spring bull sale as Lot 47. Big Daddy is a black bull that is registered with the Red Angus Association. His registration number is 1237740. He combines OCC Homer on the top side of his pedigree with OCC Eureka on the bottom. You will have to look long and hard to find another set of heifers that know how to work for a living as well as these heifers.
