Comments: The
Moffett Ranch is located near Kaycee, Wyoming — short grass and
short water country. The Moffetts have been using
PCC bulls for the past nine years because they
work in their tough environment. Retha and Milton
have created a very nice herd of small-framed,
good-udder, high-fertility Angus cows — with
great dispositions. The breeding behind these
heifers goes back to Idaho, Emblazon, Homer and
Anchor. They are all bred to a bull called Romeo,
that was purchased at our 2006 fall bull sale.
Romeo had five stars for calving ease, fleshing
ability and disposition. His dam was 11 years
old. Romeo’s birth weight EPD is –0.5,
which is in the top 10% of the Angus breed.
His energy value EPD is in the top 1/2 of the
top
1%. Sisters to these heifers sold for $1650
per head in our 2008 fall sale.
