We talk a lot about getting out of our comfort zones – but we have never talked much about what defines a comfort zone.   Each and every one of us has a comfort zone.   My comfort zone is the paradigm or box I have put myself in.   I feel safe and comfortable in my comfort zone.   However, if no ever challenges me to think or to look outside the box I have put myself in, I become trapped.   In a world that is constantly changing, being trapped in my comfort zone is the worst of all possible places to be.

A comfort zone is a place of comfort because nothing changes.   We like doing the same things in the same way, because doing so requires no uncomfortable thinking or planning.   Change is extremely uncomfortable.   Nevertheless, change is inevitable in all businesses.   Nothing stays the same.   The present is different from the past – and the future will be different from the present.   Those who are the quickest to adapt and change will always be in the driver’s seat – while those who are the slowest to adapt and change will get left behind or run over.

The status quo herd is made up of people who are afraid to step out of their comfort zone.   They like the fact that they don’t have to think for themselves.   They are satisfied with being average.   They hate change – especially if change will make them appear different from everyone else in the status quo herd.   They fail to realize there is no growth in the comfort zone – and there is no comfort in the growth zone.   We will continue to challenge and encourage you to be all that you can be.   Don’t allow yourself to be trapped in your comfort zone.

Quote Worth Re-Quoting –

“The best things in life are often waiting for you at the exit ramp of your comfort zone.”   ~ Karen Salmansohn
